Soft Fork 22.8888

So now Steemit is going to implement a softfork to practically vanish people with big accounts who have moved to Hive. I have already seen a lot of complaining about this from some people on Hive, but I think this is natural, these guys are actually coming to Steemit just to spam. And of course it shows that Justin Sun is running things and Steemit is centralized, but we all know that, I actually don't care about that, I have never taken decisions here let others do it. But look at it this way it also makes it easier for those who are here to get better rewards. I guess it is a show of centralization, but then again when the Hive big guys decided not to airdrop to some people on Steemit because they were pissed with them, well that was also centralization and vindictiveness, so I guess both sides are tied.

But, since I can do nothing about it I actually don't care how this pans out, I do hope in the end this benefits people on Steemit. Now I do want to talk about something else, right now Steem and Hive are at about the same price, a lot of people who bought hive with what they got for their Steem lost a lot of money comparing if they had bought today. I read a comment on Hive, this guy was gleefully stating that after this softfork Steem's price would go down the gutter.

Now I don't know why Steem's price pumped but if Justin Sun is as vindictive as people say he is, he would in no way do anything to have Steem pump until the 13 week powerdown is over, in fact I would think he would try to make Steem's price go down to 1 cent, just think how much someone with a lot of Steem, say @blocktrades with about $600,000.00 would lose, he would get just about 1/18th of its current value, so I think wishing for Steem's price to go down is not in the interest of people who are moving completely to Hive.

And I want to add another thought, so you powerdown your Steem and you dump it, why would that affect Steem's price? This buying and selling does not affect the price, you see it is a two way street you can't sell your Steem if someone isn't buying it, so dumping wont hurt Steem as long as people buy it. I think a big part of a coin's price is the perception the market has of it, and this perception is not reality, it is a thought.

Well let's see how this turns out, perhaps both prosper, perhaps only one or perhaps both die out, it is too soon to tell. Both are trying their best to make it seem like things are peachy, I don't think they are. Of course Steem does have an advantage and that is Justin Sun's money, Hive's advantage is enthusiasm. If I were made to bet I would bet on neither one.
