Many producers expected costs would drop to the vicinity of $0.30 by the end of 2017

As of the end of 2016, it was reported that spot prices for assembled solar panels (not cells) had fallen to a record-low of US$0.36/Wp. It was estimated that the world's largest producer,
... Many producers expected costs would drop to the vicinity of $0.30 by the end of 2017.[33] It was also reported that new solar installations were cheaper that coal-based thermal power plants in some regions of the world, and this was expected to be the case in most of the world within a decade

solar cells are becoming so diverse cheap and available!

that you can fold them!
roll them!
print them!
and afford them more easily!

or even make them at home!

that means we can build a usb charger for your usb phone or even small laptop for less than 1.6$
or maybe less than 5$ including battery and all the necessary component's very easy and with a magic light lamp with this!!
remember some led lights also use only 5 watts to light your room!
saving lots of money!

:)

cool isn't it!? =D
greetings good luck!!!

@zaskia nice picture , I will check your posts :) good luck :)

prices are huge drooping since the silicon price reduction and solar thin film printing!

Nanosolar has invested 200 millions $ in printing solar cells, without success. Other companies have tried too. "Classic" solar modules are cheap enough and stay longer. I would put more focus on the development of solar energy with existing technology than on the development of new technology. Of course, we are numerous enough on this planet to do both at the same time. But to increase solar production from less than 1 % to 35 % will require a lot of human energy.

in fact I don't want to wait til the end of the year!
god point
I already say a box full of those in the picture costing like 50$
1$ = 1wp more less 50W... and then you can build a concentrated solar panel very affordable!

Watch out not to melt your cells !
Do you have an opensource design ?

many patents from total functional systems are now expiring and becoming open source! ;)

when was that? a lot seems to be achieved in conductive inks!

I phoned to a factory once and they say they only open for big supply order's! that's why wee have to make a pyramidal group whole sale! or make a huge central or both the same!

Lol I kind of doubt you will advance the research with steem cents, but I've seen some solar coin or something along those lines :) , Upvoted and resteeming, also resteems help posts a lot they get them trending and don't let them fall into obscurity at least. so yeah best of luck to you , and thank you for stopping by at my place , I'm a bit concerned with my long posts , but if you skim them I got it down in 2 minutes. Also I've improved my reading and writing over at steem , I like the fact that we can improve our attention spans with practice :)

if we concentrate the sun in a small cell! and then you find a way to keep it cool! it should be cheaper and more efficient at the same time!

focus!

In my dreams everybody produces and stores his own electricity so there won't be any need of central power stations any longer. (I already started to do that in my home.)

yours mine and "Tesla" and from everyone joining and sporting your solar and permaculture growing group! thanks!

This plan looked better to me, at first glance, than the link you posted:
