Solar Catamaran 2017.07.25 - 06.56.21.01-10

We depart late and have no idea what that entails for the day but we are soon to find out. Stay tuned as we take this tricked out completely restored 1964 Bill O'Brien Bobcat Catamaran probably only one of 10 in the world remaining on a cruise around the Pacific North West.

Her amenities include 2160 Watts of Solar Panels providing unlimited energy to charge her 20 kwh 400ah lithium battery bank. Propulsion is provided by 2 Rayeo Electric Outboards and provides 8 kw of electric torque all the time.

This all electric craft features induction cook tops, electric barbecue, incinerating head, state of the art electronics for navigation. The list is long... If you want to know more just ask.

Have fun - a fantastic part of the world for sailing.

Very cool idea. Wondering where you'll be this summer. I'll be out of Vancouver on my boat this summer, would love to see your setup. Looks like you've forgone the mast. Curious about your cruising speed and range. Resteemed and following.

Cool loneranger. I'm trying to start to book flights after the 22nd of April. Your more than welcome to step aboard. Yes mast in 2018 kind of pointless especially in the pacific north west unless that is you kind of thing. We cruise 4 knots non-stop for as long as we need to but can go faster should we choose. You can see the speed if you increase the quality of the video to 720p. All the data is there.

Hi @knot. Thanks for the warm welcome. Glad you like the name of the vessel. We were going to rename it Pacific Green but they want $250.00 CDN for that. The name does suit it though. Welcome aboard for the journey and thanks for the connection to @knot. I will check out the discord chat soon.

Thank you for using the pure energy of the sun
