Various governments and environmental organisations are constantly telling us how clean "renewable" power sources are, such as Solar Panels.
Of course the term "renewable" energy is miss-leading, as it's the equipment used to generate the "renewable energy" that has to be renewable.
Perhaps the term is correct, after all once your battery and solar panel has worn out and stopped working, after around 7-10 years (Less for batteries) then you have to renew them.
But what to do with the old? Land fills I hear you say? Maybe.
However many third world countries burn them, to extract any scrap metal from them, causing toxic waste, as this story points out.
