Hello Steemians!
Today I will take you on a short journey through our Solar System! I hope everyone will enjoy learning or remembering some of the magnificence of our Solar System!
The Solar System is the gravitational bound between our Sun and the objec that are orbiting directly or indirectly around it, with Earth being just one of many celestial bodies.
The Solar System is about 4.6 billion years old, formed from the gravitational collapse of an interstellar molecular cloud.

Our Solar System consists of a near-vacuum known as interplanetary medium, which takes up the majority of the Solar System (space wise), basically it's the "space" around the objects.
Not surprisingly, Sol, the star of our Solar System, is the most massive object.
In fact, Sol holds 99.86% mass of the whole Solar System, hence why every other object is orbiting around it!
After Sol comes the Inner Solar System, which consists of the inner planets, Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars, followed by the asteroid belt, which contains many smaller asteroids, made mostly out of rocks and metal, which range from a few meters to hundreds of kilometers in size. The biggest of .them all being Ceres, with a diameter slightly under 1000 kilometers.

After the asteroid belt starts the Outer Solar System where the outer planets, or so called "giant planets" are located.
The largest gas giant is Jupiter, followed by Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.
After the orbit of Neptune comes the "trans-Neptunian region", where the Kuiper belt is located.
The Kuiper belt is a ring of objects similar to asteroids but which are composed mainly of ice.
It is the home of the dwarf planet Pluto, which is the largest object in the belt.

After the Kupier Belt comes the Scattered disc, which overlaps with it, but goes much further out and consists of small scattered objects, with Eris, which is 25% more massive than Pluto, being the largest.
Eris, Solar System's largest dwarf planet
Last, we have the heliosphere, which is a bubble-like region.
The heliosphere is created by the solar wind plasma which bursts out from the Sun.
It protects the Solar System from the pressure of the hydrogen and helium gas called interstellar medium.
