I finished 60 days of fasting! -- NO SOLID FOOD

For those following me, you see that I embarked on a Solid Food Vacation for 60 days. This means that I ate no solid foods during that period of time. Instead, I only drank raw (uncooked) juices of fruits and vegetables. On a solid food vacation, anything else liquid will also work fine, such as water or the occasional store-purchased fruit juice—if my desire for juice is too strong. It was not common for me to drink cooked soup broth or pasteurized juices; however, this did happen on occasion, and possibly averaging once every 1-2 weeks.

Vitals - Before and After

  • Weight: from about 130 lbs to 107.5 lbs. (I lost about 22.5 lbs, 10 kilos.) It’s notable to say that with dry fasting and water fasting—which I did near the end of the fast—I dropped down to 104 lbs.
  • Blood pressure: 111/64 to 103/65 mmHg
  • Evening walking Heart beat rate: no noticeable change. (between 60-65 bpm)
  • Body Mass Index: from 21.1 to 16.6

Strength / Endurance

I’ve noticed a big difference in my strength and endurance through the following exercises:

  • Diamond Push-ups (and all sorts of other push-ups)
  • Pull downs.
  • Pull ups. (slight improvement)
  • Head stands and hand stands.
  • Squats
  • Nearly doubled my maximum plank time.

During times of fasting and getting out sickness, one may also look sick. I believe I look sicker here...and I cannot wait to rebuild once again and look beautifully :) Like the phoenix rising!

The Last Days

Day 55: water fasted with about 16 oz of water. Not much :)

Day 56: water fasted all day. I drank much more water :)

Day 57: dry fasted. Absolutely no water.

Day 58: dry fasted. I ended the dry fast after 38 hours by drinking water and later a simple juice. The simple juice was definitely too much and next time I will transition slower...I should have had more water instead of the simple juice! I could tell because of this “acidic” feeling at the back of my throat.

Day 59: mostly water fasted plus a simple juice at the end of the day.

Day 60: 1 gallon of fruit and vegetable juices. Notably, I had this awesome juice that tasted like carrots to me! The juice consisted of...

  • 1 stalk of celery
  • 2 bags of grapes
  • 2 bushes of cilantro
  • 2 cucumber
