I turned 18 that month. Sean Coombes was about 4 or 5 years older and lived in New York. He was working as a intern in a record label while I was traveling up and down to Glasgow by train and living out what seemed to be a mistake.

My Babes In Toyland t-shirt had caught the attention of tall girl in short black mini-dress, "cool band" she told me. She wouldn't tell me her name at the end of that evening, but she was in every single thought I was having.

There were record stores in Glasgow like Fopp, 23rd Precinct, Missing, and Tower. Tower was kinda gash, so most of my money went to Fopp and 23rd Precinct.

The girl in the black mini-dress showed up at my first day of university. She was sitting across from me in the bar and having a sandwich. Saying hello was easy but making a friend was more difficult especially as she had thought I was someone else.

I missed music. It came into my life through computer games. My friend had a keyboard and drum machine but we didn't do raves. We didn't organise parties. Someone else did that. Some others had the rave band and was training to mix records together.

In the end it didn't work with the girl in the black mini-dress. After a few pints I called her from the pay phone at the university bar, but she wasn't home. It was my 18th birthday and my plan was to have a few drinks. My plan was not well received by my family when I got home.

Trips to Kilmarnock and walking around the town in work coats brought me back into contact with her. But she had other plans. It took me a while to crush the feeling. It's much easier to crush feelings now. It doesn't take so long.

Puff is still older than me. I loosened up a few years ago and partied more. But it was a bit late. It looked good but the time for that to be useful was over. Doing it later was healthy but useless.

It might still be useful for me to learn how to develop code and applications on Ethereum. I'm going to give it a go. I need the money. I need to change. Jobs are not coming my way and need to make my own luck. Consider this post as my outing. Solidity is in my head now and I don't want it to leave. Be a mini-dress, please.
