Solo Leveling is a South Korean webcomic by Chugong and DUBU. The series was originally published on Tappytoon of the same name.
Solo Leveling will be adapted into an anime version. This information was officially announced at the Anime Expo 2022 event. The event was held by Crunchyroll.
As reported by Crunchyroll, the anime version will air in 2023. Crunchyroll has also confirmed the premiere of the Solo Leveling anime in 2023.
The anime version was produced by A-1 Pictures. This Japanese animation studio has also worked on several other major anime. Like Sword Art Online and Kaguya-sama: Love is War.
Solo Leveling is directed by Shunsuke Nakashige and Hiroyuki Sawano is composing. In addition, the script is written by Noboru Kimura, and the character is designed by Tomoko Sudo.
Solo Leveling is the Korean webcomic that fans are most looking forward to adapting to the anime version. Following the information that Solo Leveling will be adapted to the anime version, a message from the creator was also displayed on the Anime Expo 2022 panel.
In the message, Chugong said he was looking forward to the anime version of his work. He also admitted that he still finds it hard to believe that the novel he wrote about six years ago was not only adapted into a webcomic but would also be adapted into an anime version.
"About six years ago when I started writing Solo Leveling, if someone said, 'The novel you wrote will be adapted into a comic', I was sure that I would reply to them to stop joking. But now, I'm told that Solo Leveling will be adapted in a new version. anime?!" Chugong's full message was displayed at Anime Expo 2022, Saturday, July 9, 2022. "Seriously, stop joking!... But recently, I've been feeling really happy and moved."
Not only Chugong, but DUBU also expressed his pleasure that Solo Leveling will be adapted to the anime version.
"Solo Leveling will finally make its anime debut. As if only yesterday we received an offer for this work to be adapted into an anime," explained DUBU. "I feel very happy when I think an anime version is being worked on. Thank you to all the fans who love and support Solo Leveling. I am very grateful. Thank you very much."
