Nobody knows with certainty who was the author of the Book of Wisdom, but furthermore this book is not recognized by many branches of Christianity, the author of the Book of Wisdom presented himself as King Solomon; and with this literary trick, the author gave to the book a special importance because King Solomon was the most famous of the wise men of Israel.
And in one part of his book the teacher of wisdom inquired, reflected, on the true nature of wisdom; and he understood that wisdom is not a common virtue like justice but rather that wisdom is a perfection, a gift from above; and that wisdom participates in both science and intelligence.
And for this reason the monarch of Israel, as a God-fearing man, made a special prayer to God to obtain this hidden treasure, the wisdom from above.
In this way the wise man began his prayer:
"God of my ancestors, Lord of mercy,
you who have made all things by your word
and in your wisdom have established humankind
to rule the creatures produced by you,
and to govern the world in holiness and righteousness,
and to render judgment in integrity of heart:
Give me Wisdom, the consort at your throne,
and do not reject me from among your children" Wisdom 9:1-4.
Through the participation in the divine wisdom Solomon became a son of God, to fulfill a special mission taught the book intelligently, and that mission was to build the first temple, in order to give due reverence to God and show his glory.
That is why in this way continue the spiritual prayer:
"You have chosen me to be king of your people
and to be judge over your sons and daughters.
You have given command to build a temple on your holy mountain
and an altar in the city of your habitation,
a copy of the holy tent that you prepared from the beginning" Wisdom 9:7-9.
The wise man finally recognized the sovereignty of wisdom and affirmed its blessing on men:
"For she knows and understands all things,
and she will guide me wisely in my actions
and guard me with her glory" Wisdom 9:11.
