As stated before, I'm not going to post one of these every day, but I plan to go in order and sequentially run through the whole challenge eventually. At the current rate of one every 18 days I should finish this up in 2020. I think I may need to increase my posting frequency.
Today's topic is a song that has a number in the title. The song I've picked is the Six Days remix by DJ Shadow, featuring Mos Def.
It was featured in the opening credits of the film "Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift", and is really a mashup of two different songs:
Six Day War, by Colonel Bagshot...
... and Walkie Talkie, also by DJ Shadow.
Mix these 2 songs together, add in Mos Def, beef up the drums a bit, and you've got this gem. Lyrically, some of the rhymes in the original Bagshot song feel pretty forced, but topically it's aged pretty well.
