Day 21 ... a song you like with a person's name in the title
Eleanor Rigby - The Beatles
One of the most important songs of the British band who shook the music world.
Apparently, the source of inspiration was a tombstone located in St Peter's Parish Church in Woolton, Liverpool. Paul McCartney and John Lennon, as teenagers, used to sunbath here and the name from the old tombstone inspired them to write this amazing song.
According to Wikipedia, Eleanor Rigby was a real person and below you can find some details about her.
An actual Eleanor Rigby was born on 29 August 1895 and lived in Liverpool, possibly in the suburb of Woolton, where she married a man named Thomas Woods on Boxing Day 1930. She died on 10 October 1939 of a brain haemorrhage at the age of 44 and was buried three days later. Regardless of whether this Eleanor was the inspiration for the song or not, her tombstone has become a landmark to Beatles fans visiting Liverpool.
Regardless of the history of this song, it is an amazing composition.
