On a serious note though there are traditional herbalists with a vast knowledge of the local flora, I remember once working in my garden with a zulu chap of about my age, I was suffering from intense heartburn. I happened to mention this to him. He immediately walked around the garden for awhile then pulled out what I took to be weed. On the roots were little brown nodules which he offered to me to eat. Trusting soul that I am, I chewed them, they had a slight minty taste if I recall, and viola the heartburn was gone.
Wish I could remember what plant it was....

This happens to me all the time and the traffic lights as well. It is such a waste of trees that were cut down to end up as that utter totally crap and I do agree there are some serious traditional herbalists.

Unfortunately there are a lot of sheisters out there. It's amazing you can walk through one part of town and it will be completely first world and a few blocks aways away you could be in another town entirely.
