Cape Town, South Africa, likely to be the first major city in the world to be left without water during one of the worst droughts in the countries history

I was in Cape Town on holiday this December and let me tell you folks, its BAAAD!

2 minute cold trickle showers every second day, if possible, with a large bucket at your feet to collect the extra water to use for the toilet. The toilet water is always yellow with like 5 different peoples urine at any given moment. Never open the taps all the way! You can imagine the rest.

From a city whose tap water is completely drinkable and is used to flush the toilets! Whose genius idea was that!? To a city whose streets are starting to smell like faeces. Soon there will be militarised water collection points and grid water will be useless and undrinkable. The worst part however is how so many people are just blatantly and arrogantly just not complying with the restrictions, which are severe for a good reason. It is as if they don't want to face the harsh reality, like it will magically just rain again. From someone who used to live in this beautiful city and who has a few family members living there, including my brother whose studying there, it is very sad to see. I know its not just Cape Town on a global scale but it hits home when you're used to such luxuries like clean tap water that flows freely.

So everyone who has access to clean water that flows freely from your taps, be grateful for such vital luxuries! It can all change so fast!
