So, you want to play Wordle? Here’s how you play it!

Interested in Wordle, a new viral puzzle game that is sweeping Twitter? Wordle's premise is simple. You need to guess a 5-letter word in 6 attempts. Let me teach you the rules of the game and share your results with your friends.

  1. There are six chances to guess the five-letter word of the day, so focus on each guess. Try using words with many different letters to narrow down your future guesses. Type your first guess and press Enter or click to see if the character was found.
  2. Check the color of the tile. Guess, and “poof,” the tiles will change color. The green tile indicates that you guessed the correct letter in the correct place for the word. The yellow tile means that you guessed a letter that was in the word, but not in the right place. If you see a gray tile, it means that the letters are not participating in today's word.
  3. Guess another word. Try again, using the clues you got from the first guess. Write it down, memorize it, just recall that, Gray tiles are not, and will not, be included in Wordle today and should not be reused. If your brilliance came to get the job done, and you guessed the green tile in the correct position, make sure to use them in that position in the second guess. Letters can appear multiple times in the same word
So, while you’re playing “Wordle,” how would you like one whole year of Coca-Cola, and a brand-new fridge to put it in? Ya, I would like that too, who wouldn’t right? Just click here for your chance to score this awesome deal!

  4. Continue typing your guess until all the letters are green. When you guess a word correctly, you'll see a pop-up window with statistics and a countdown timer that tells you how long it will be before the next word becomes available to you.
  5. Share your score. If you want to show others how you kick-butt at this game, click the share button to copy the colorful grid and paste it into a new tweet, Facebook post, email, or instant message. Everyone is playing the same Wordle puzzle, so your results won't spread the Word of the Day to your friends and followers. You can always return to the statistics (and share button) by clicking the bar chart icon at the top of Wordle.
