Heaven on Earth – Galgorm Resort & Spa
Having just returned from the most wonderful mini spa break at Galgorm Resort & Spa I must share this gem of a spot with you. I have labelled this Heaven on Earth – Galgorm Resort & Spa, it is truly a spectacular place to visit. From arrival to departure, we were spoilt rotten. If I tell you the Thermal Village is the best in the land, this is true but it actually does not do this place justice. It is out of this world perfection. Before arrival I was very excited to see The Thermal Village at Galgorm as I had seen so many great reports about it but you must visit to understand its true beauty, there is nothing on this scale or as fabulous that I can compare it to.From the moment you enter the grounds you begin to experience the ultimate in luxury, relaxation and wellness. To begin our pampering we arrived at the Thermal Village cafe, where we had some teas before heading into the orangery for fresh fruit smoothies and fruit skewers. We got to sample some wonderful treatments and experiences at Galgorm Resort & Spa including an exercise session with their in house personal trainer Jack Dennaghy and this took place in the River House with floor to ceiling windows and sliding doors so that all that surrounded you was the sound of nature, the running river and the welcomed cool breeze. If every exercise session could be in such a stunning setting we would all be very fit indeed.Next it was onto their Celtic Sauna Ritual, this is priced at just £15 per person. Originating in Finland but practiced world wide, Galgorm offer a unique presentation on the Aufguss sauna ritual. Your sauna master guides you through a meditative experience where a ritual with towels is used to agitate the air, cooling the intensity of the heat a little so that you can breath in the essential oils that infuse the air, you then move onto the River House for a meditation session followed by rejuvenation and refreshments in the orangery where you can continue to enjoy this fabulous relaxed state in their loungers over looking the river or the swing seats. This is exceptional value at £15 per person, honestly if someone had said this cost £90 + I would not have been surprised. When you visit Galgorm Resort & Spa if you book no other treatments, I urge you to book this one. It is exceptional.Feeling more relaxed than I imagined possible we then went on to sample the delicious delights from their new Elements cafe menu, with many light bits to choose from, smoothies, juices and teas there is a tasty treat for all your taste spuds. After lunch it was time to sample more treatments at Galgorm Resort & Spa, the list is extensive with many packages, offers etc, so really it is best to check their website for current deals but all that I saw offered great value. Check for current offers HEREIf you visit Galgorm Resort & Spa, try to book more than one day as The Thermal Village has too much to offer to fit into one day, but also the grounds offer spectacular walks, runs, horse riding, tennis, and more. There are three restaurants to choose from with a choice of bars to relax in afterwards. I would recommend a 2 or 3 night mid-week break so that you can sample all of what this exceptional resort has to offer and taken a mid-week break often means it is a little quieter which is perfect when looking for a relaxing break.Within the Thermal Village, you can enjoy the indoor pool, infinity hydrotherapy pool, snail shower, water beds, sanarium, snow room (not to be missed, yes it is cold, yes there is real snow and yes you will love it), beltane hot tub & fire, relax in the private riverside hot tubs, why not go all out an opt to sip champagne while enjoying the peace and beauty of the river Maine.Set within 163 acres of lush parkland with the spectacular River Maine flowing through the estate, Galgorm Resort has a truly unique setting. Close to both Belfast airports and the stunning scenery of the North Antrim Coast, it is the perfect base from which to explore the region’s most renowned attractions. This Resort is home to 122 luxurious guestrooms including 48 deluxe rooms, Junior and Signature Suites, and the unique Thermal Village & Spa that is the first of its kind in Ireland. Guests will enjoy the tranquillity of nature and experience pure relaxation with an extensive selection of riverside hot tubs, indoor and outdoor heated pools, steam rooms and saunas. The Resort also boasts a selection of restaurants & bars and extensive conference and banqueting facilities. With luxurious facilities to enjoy and our renowned warm welcome, Galgorm is the perfect escape…Take a look at Galgorm Resort & Spa website for current offers HERE As we walked towards breakfast on Monday, we both commented on the exceptional attention to detail throughout the resort, from the art work in the bedrooms, to the lighting in the halls, not one luxury detail is missed at Galgorm resort and spa. Photo’s and words really don’t do this place the justice it deserves, you must go and see for yourself and I promise that you will not be at all disappointed. This place really is Heaven on Earth – Galgorm Resort & SpaIn my opinion this is the perfect mini moon, pre honeymoon, or full honeymoon destination. It also lends itself to being the ultimate ladies or gents getaway, go in a group of two or more and switch off from the kids, work, life for a few days. Treat your loved one to the perfect birthday gift, anniversary gift, or any other reason to spoil them with a break to galgorm resort and spa. While here I also thought with the boudoir rooms, secret room and private treatment area’s this would make a fabulous “grown up” hen party idea, or why not treat your mum to the best mothers day gift of all with a few days enjoying all that galgorm resort and spa has to offer.I would say if you love your spa pampering already then you will adore this place and if you have never been to a spa before you will wonder why you did not go before and I promise you it will be the 1st of many spa breaks. It is exceptional luxury without being stuff and price points that are no where near what you might expect for such quality and beauty. The majority of this article focus on The Thermal Village, as we ate here and enjoyed over night stays also, I will write a separate article on dining here and staying here. So keep your eyes peeled
