I recently came back from Bali and I stayed in the beautiful and bustling village of Ubud. I have been to Bali on numerous occasions but never stayed in Ubud. While I was there I decided to get a massage. I was in need of an invigorating massage and walked into Ayuning Spa and Guest House, located in Ubud and met the owner Ms. Komang Pande and her sister Ruby. Ruby is the masseuse. Ruby is petite and has powerful hands like a "tsunami"! After she finished, giving me a massage, I felt like a new person; totally alive and ready to climb Mt. Everest! It was truly an amazing massage. I liked it so much I decided to get two more. In the same building, they also have a guest house. I inspected the guest house and I was amazed how beautiful it was. Everything looked new and very clean and it even has a nice patio. The guest house has air conditioning, Wi-Fi and linen (sheets and towels) are provided. The guest house, which can only accommodate one or two persons at the most, is located in a very good area in Ubud. There are many restaurants, shops, taxis, and souvenir shops all within walking distance form Ayuning Spa and Guest House.
There are two small restaurants, a mini-mart and various different vendors where you can hire motorcycles or book sightseeing tours - all located on the same street. There is even a supermarket called "COCO" within walking distance (about 5-minute walk). If you need your clothes washed, no problem, there is a laundry service on the same street and the cost to wash is very inexpensive. They charge by weight. I think I paid about US$ 2.00 for 2pounds of dirty clothes. You can hire taxis (taxis on motorcycles) that can take you around UBUD for very little money. If you are into Yoga walk over to "Yoga Barn" about 10-minute walk from Ayuning Spa and Guest House. Since there is only one guest house I recommend that you book early.
If you are planning to visit Bali and planning to stay in Ubud I recommend getting a massage at "Ayuning Spa" and staying at their guest house. The cost to stay at the guest house and getting a massage is extremely affordable. Accepted form of payment is cash or PAY PAL (for the guest house only).
