As friends of Steemit, greetings @calidaddevida, today I want you to meet this great star that I met through a press release and take several notes to share with all of you.

Betelgeuse is one of the largest stars known today, with a radius about 1,400 times larger than the Sun. Located about 600 light years away, in the constellation of Orion (the hunter), is super giant red star He shines fiery, which causes him to have a short life expectancy.

The star is only about 8 million years old, but it is about to become a supernova. If you do not know what a supernova is here, I explain it to you: "It's a stellar explosion that can be displayed in a very remarkable way, even a simple view".

When this happens, the outburst will be perceptible from Earth, including daylight. The star has been observed in many other wavelengths, mainly in the visible, infrared and ultraviolet spectra.

The astronomers also discovered a giant bubble that boiled on the surface of Betelgeuse. These characteristics help explain how the star dissolves in gas and dust at high speed.
