The Hubble Space Telescope has made amazing images of the Lagoon Nebula, which lies about four thousand light-years from Earth in the constellation of Sagittarius.
As noted on the site of the US space agency NASA, the photos were made in honor of the 28th anniversary of the launch of the telescope.
Hubble took a photo in the period from 12 to 18 February this year. One of the pictures shows gas clubs, of which the nebula consists.
In the center of the picture is a star called Herschel 36, which is about 200,000 times brighter than the Sun and 32 times more massive. As noted in the agency, it is still very active, because it is "young" by space standards (its age is estimated at one million years).
In addition, NASA unveiled yet another photo taken by Hubble in the near infrared light, which captures many stars in the nebula.
