An artist made this map, which is not to scale, but based on logarithmic maps of the universe put together by Princeton University researchers, as well as images from NASA.
Of course we're not the center of the universe. There is no center, and there is no "Up or down", the universe has no preferred direction. The observable universe is 46 billion light years wide, the whole universe is probably around 93 billion light years across, and it's still expanding, faster than the speed of light.
The real question is what is it expanding into?
