Within IceBridge mission the team of NASA makes from August 25 to September 21 a series of flights of northern polar regions for the purpose of studying of volumes of the thawed ices and intensity of process. Each flight within this series takes more than five hours. The research is made by means of specially equipped B200T King Air plane. The mission of IceBridge is some kind of intermediate link between two satellite missions of NASA. From 2003 to 2009 the ICESat satellite which was engaged in monitoring of an ice covering worked. Next year ICESat-2 for the same purposes will be started. For now work is conducted with the plane.
