New research: The moon can contain water
More water can mean the next step in exploring our solar system.
We should not expect to see images of astronauts kneeling on the surface of the Moon and drinking from a fresh source, but data from satellite imagery are now breathing to the hope that there may be large amounts of water trapped in the Moon's robe.
So far, water has been found in some of the samples taken from the Moon and in 2008 the Indian probe Chandrayaan-1 could detect water in the thin atmosphere of the Moon. But how much water, the Moon contained, was hard to judge.
The researchers have been in doubt as to whether the samples taken from the Moon contained an amount of water that was misleading for the composition of the Moon. It writes The Guardian.
Water provides opportunities
The presence of water on the Moon is extremely important not only because it allows for drinking water for a possible. Coming moon base, but more and more because the hydrogen in water can be the next step into the universe. If you have hydrogen, you have potential fuel.
Combined with the Moon's low gravity, it will make shipping of the next generation of space travel cheaper and easier.
Good.
