On Twitter they report they have a 90% go chance for weather.

Yesterday a succesful static fire test was conducted:

I don't get what's the big deal with SpaceX self-landing rocket. Wasn't that the tech that they've used in the 60's to land that weird looking pod on the moon?

8 times the gravity, and on a small fixed target with autonomous control. Even harder on a barge. Add to that the lack of development of reusable rockets, possibly due to lack of low-cost demand until recently.

And the atmosphere. Which causes the actual problems during reentry.
