I saw somewhere that the big bang was not the initial point but There was something before, short and unknow.

    There is a hypothesis that the universe is eventually starting to shrink, leading to a big bang again and a new expansion. However, this is unconfirmed. Maybe it took place in the past, although we are not able to check it. Yet.
