Space was once a completely unknown territory for man. In ancient times, people looked into the sky and explained to themselves the phenomena taking place there by the deeds of the almighty gods. Our ancestors were afraid to anger the greats and therefore tried not to stir up the secrets of interplanetary space.
But over time, interest overcame fear, and man began to study space. At first, these were only theoretical studies that were done at a distance based on observations of the moon and the study of the starry sky.
But as science developed, people moved from observation to direct exploration of space. And what was revealed to them? They learned that our solar system is only a small part of the Milky Way galaxy, which has more than two hundred billion stars.
For many years, scientists have fought to create flying vehicles that can overcome the gravity of the earth and go to plow space. And finally they succeeded.
The first person to fly into space was our compatriot Yuri Gagarin. Shortly after his 1961 trip to the lunar surface, American astronaut Neil Armstrong set foot.
Since then, space has ceased to be something distant and inaccessible for people. They realized that it can be explored not only at a distance, but also directly being in it. For this purpose, orbital stations were built, which successfully exist to this day.
In our time, space flights have become much more comfortable for people, and robots perform dangerous work for the crew members. Nevertheless, outer space is still fraught with many secrets, and it is not yet possible to study it completely.
But I am sure that scientists of the future will surely find answers to many questions of interest to them, since astronautics is developing very rapidly. I think people will soon be able to fly to Mars and visit other planets. And who knows what else they will discover there, in the distant expanses of the universe ...
Man has always tried to break out of the bounds of earth gravity, but for many years only poets and science fiction writers dreamed of this. The use of rockets helped make those dreams come true.
Astronautics began to get on its feet when the first scientific calculations appeared. In an atmosphere of deep secrecy, work was going on on space devices . And an amazingly short time passed from the beginning of the construction of the first, still largely imperfect, often exploding rockets before a person managed to escape into space , that is, reach a speed of about 8 kilometers per second! All this became possible thanks to the jet engine invented by aviation.
Cosmonautics has imperceptibly entered our life. Satellites help meteorologists predict the weather and navigate the ocean for ships and aircraft during flight. Providing scientists with information about the structure of the earth's interior, the movement of glaciers and the activity of volcanoes is also the task of satellites.
However, despite such a widespread use of astronautics in the interests of science and economy, this science is still very young, it has many victories and discoveries ahead of it. Perhaps you, the younger generation, will have to master the stellar worlds in the near future.
