At Rota the police will ask you for your boarding pass before they will stamp your passport. This is very important and they are not flexible. If you arrive during regular business hours you need to go have your passport stamped. If you arrive after business hours you still can go there and the duty agent will sign a paper stating you were there. They are open 24/7.

NEX has a car rental desk right at the passenger terminal and are there during regular business hours.
Bus right outside Rota gate good price, cheaper than taxis also available
Base shuttle. Taxis are quick and inexpensive 727-2929. Rental car located in the Air Terminal phone 727-2675 fax 727-2002. Others available off-base. Bus station right out side the Rota Gate. Train Station El Puerto de Santa Maria 25 minutes. Commercial Airport Jerez de la Frontera 30 minutes. Sevilla Airport 2 hours. Sato office (Official travel Only) 727-2034.

Civilians, dependents and Retirees must have their passport stamped, within 72 hours upon arrival, by Spanish Immigrations Officer at the National Police station located in Rota, Avenida Principes de España 113.
All AMC travelers are permitted to use MWR to include all dining facilities, Golf Course/Pro Shop, Bowling Center, Fitness Center, Housing Pool, Movie Theater, Tennis Courts, Recreation Center, Library, ITT (Information Tickets and Tours. Provides tours for Spain, Portugal, Africa and other countries).
