Elon Musk's SpaceX raised $25 million in a funding round last month, the company said in a securities filing on Friday. In 2022, it has now raised $2 billion.
The filing did not specify the source of the funds, but said they came from five investors.
SpaceX has not announced any changes to its estimates. The company's value has skyrocketed over the past few years as SpaceX raised billions of dollars to finance two capital-intensive projects: the next-generation Starship rocket and the Starlink global satellite internet network. Its value reached $127 billion in a stock round before May, according to CNBC. This increase generated $1.725 billion.
SpaceX is working on the next stage of development of Starship - the first attempt to get into orbit. Earlier this week, Musk said on Twitter that a successful orbital flight "could be 1 to 12 months from now."
