This sounds interesting, as a complete newbie to steemit it's all also a bit overwhelming to read and put into practice. Not just the spam bit of this post but the whole process of posting, following, formatting correctly etc. It's nice to see a structured community though! :)

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

  • Disagreement on rewards
  • Fraud or plagiarism
  • Hate speech or trolling
  • Miscategorized content or spam
