Este asombroso Parque Nacional fue el primero en Nueva Zelanda en ser declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO y cuarto en el mundo, cabe señalar que es de carácter mixto ya que tiene una mezcla de cultura y naturaleza.
El Parque nacional de Tongariro se extiende alrededor del macizo de los tres volcanes Monte Ruapehu, Monte Ngauruhoe y Monte Tongariro, los tres volcanes se encuentran alineados y muy próximos los unos a los otros, una cosa fascinante y para los fans de las películas del 'Señor de los Anillos' es que justamente aquí se llevaron a cabo parte de las grabaciones.
Es un buen lugar para deleitarte solamente de su belleza pero si lo que quieres es divertirte este lugar tiene demasiadas actividades como ciclismo, montañismo, montar a caballo, excursiones o simplemente pescar, si visitas este Parque en invierno el snowboarding así como esquiar será lo mejor que podrás practicar.
Oceanía tiene lugares bastante hermosos por visitar, este es uno de ellos que no por nada es Patrimonio de la Humanidad, sus lagos turquesa, prados alpinos y fuentes termales hacen de este Parque un lugar totalmente turístico, visitarlo sería una experiencia inigualable.
