El agua virtual es la cantidad de agua que se necesita para poder producir cualquier cosa. La producción de cualquier bien,desde una taza de café, hasta un carro implica el empleo de una cierta cantidad de agua. Para tomar una taza de café son necesarios 140 litros de agua que se utilizan para el cultivo,producción y empaquetado de los granos de café. Esto equivale aproximadamente la cantidad media que gasta una persona durante el día, para beber y realizar sus tareas del hogar. Es así como nuestro consumo de agua tiene influencia en la disponibilidad de recursos hidricos en el planeta.

To take a cup of coffee are necessary 140 liters of water that are in use for the culture, production and packaging of the coffee beans. This is equivalent approximately the average quantity that a person spends during the day, to drink and realize his tasks of the home. It is as well as our consumption of water has influence in the availability of water resources in the planet.
