Motivado a las constantes lluvias que se han presentado en Venezuela, el Orinoco, su principal río, ha aumentado 18 metros por encima del nivel del mar lo que ha activado un alerta roja de parte de las autoridades competentes en Ciudad Bolívar.

En lo respecta a Caicara del Orinoco el nivel de agua supera los 35 metros. Ante la amenaza del desbordamiento del río el gobierno nacional ha activado planes de prevención a los fines de no aumentar el número de dignificados en la zona, que ya supera los 9000, incluso 2 persona fallecidas por este asunto de las lluvias.
