The Manson Family

Una secta establecida durante los años 60', seguidores y fanáticos de Charles Manson, conocidos por sus crímens entre ellos el más destacado "El asesinato de Sharon Tate"

• En mi anterior post, conocerán un poco sobre quién fue esta hermosa actriz y modelo.

Charles Manson fue su lider, viviendo como un indigente, conoció a Mary Brunner, una joven de 23 años de edad, estudiante y que trabajaba como asistente de biblioteca de la Universidad de Berkeley; Manson se fue a vivir con ella. Luego él en contra de la voluntad de Brunner, invitó a otra mujer a vivir con ellos. En poco tiempo, estaban compartiendo la residencia de Brunner con otras 18 mujeres.

Manson se estableció como un gurú en San Francisco, aprovechando los festivales y concentraciones hippies. Pronto tuvo su primer grupo de seguidores, quienes fueron llamados «La Familia Manson». La mayoría de quienes lo seguían eran mujeres.

En agosto de 1968, Manson estableció una guarida para el grupo en el Rancho Spahn,

Los miembros de «La Familia Manson» hicieron diferentes trabajos en el rancho. Además, Manson ordenó a las mujeres, que de vez en cuando tuvieran relaciones con el octogenario y ya prácticamente ciego, dueño del rancho. Prácticamente todas las mujeres actuaron como objetos sexuales para el dueño a cambio de no pagar el alquiler.

A principios de enero de 1969, se escaparon por el desierto y se posicionó para controlar supuestas tensiones de Los Ángeles, mudándose a una casa de color amarillo canario en Canoga Park, no lejos del Rancho Spahn.

Según Manson la "Familia" crearía un album que seria tan exitoso como uno de The Beatles, de aquí él dijo que Terry Melcher, productor musical, iba a ir a la casa para escuchar el material musical, las mujeres prepararon comida y limpiaron el lugar; pero Melcher nunca llegó.

Sus crímenes conocidos fueron:
1° el intento de asesinato hacia Bernard "Lotsapoppa" Crowe: confundido por Manson como miembro del partido panteras negras, gracias a esto y creyendo que habrían represalias en su contra por el grupo, volvió al rancho Spahn desplegando tácticas defensivas, con patrullas nocturnas y guardias armados cuidando el rancho.

2° Asesinato del músico Gary Hinman: Manson envió a algunos miembros de «La Familia Manson», entre ellos Bobby Beausoleil, junto con Mary Brunner y Susan Atkins a la casa del músico Gary Hinman, para persuadirlo a entregar un dinero que según la creencia de Charles el músico había heredado. Los tres tuvieron a Hinman como rehén dos días, durante los cuales Manson apareció con un cuchillo y cortó la oreja de Hinman. ​ Beausoleil apuñaló a Hinman hasta asesinarlo, aparentemente bajo las instrucciones de Manson. Antes de abandonar la escena del crimen, Beausoleil o una de las mujeres, utilizaron la sangre de Hinman para escribir en la pared "Political piggy"

3° Asesinato de Sharon Tate y sus amigos: Manson ordenó a Watson tomar a Susan Atkins, Linda Kasabian y Patricia Krenwinkel, una de las primeras en entrar a «La Familia Manson», para que fueran a "esa casa donde Melcher solía vivir" y "destruir totalmente a todo el mundo de la manera más horripilante que puedas".

Manson le ordenó a las mujeres que siguieran todas las instrucciones de Watson

4°Asesinato del matrimonio LaBianca: Posterior al asesinato de Sharon, Manson insultado por el escandalo realizado en el asesinato de la actriz, deido enseñarle a sus pupilos "cómo se hace" de tal forma que digamos... al azar.
El mismo Manson asaltó la vivienda de los LaBianca, Allí, Tex Watson, siguiendo instrucciones cubrió las cabezas de la pareja con fundas de almohada y sujetó estas firmemente en su lugar, usando cable telefónico. Tras presenciar esto con satisfacción, Manson abandonó la escena, no sin antes enviar al interior del domicilio a Krenwinkel y Van Houten, con claras instrucciones de que el matrimonio debía ser asesinado asi fue mediante puñaladas a cada uno de los esposos escribiendo con su sangre frases o palabras tales como: "war"; "rise"; "death to the pigs"; "helter skelter".

Van Houten fue condenada por conspiración y por el asesinato del matrimonio LaBianca. Crímenes que cometió por creer que Manson era una especie de "Jesucristo".

Susan Atkins

Seguidora más cercanas a Manson, confesó haber asesinado a Sharon T. Padecía un tumor cerebral que le diagnosticaron en 2008.4​ Falleció el jueves 24 de septiembre de 2009 en prisión.

Patricia Krenwinkel

Fue condenada por 7 homicidios, uno de los cuales fue el del matrimonio LaBiancas. Después de matarles dejó huella de la atrocidad cometida escribiendo "muerte a los cerdos" en la pared de su casa.

Bruce Davis

sentenciado en 1972 por participar en el asesinato Gary Hinman, y del encargado del rancho en el que vivía la familia Manson, Donald "Shorty" Sea.

Charles Watson

Considerado la mano derecha de Manson, fue sentenciado a muerte por participar en los asesinatos. Pena que después también fue reducida. No sabía cuando saldría de prisión, por lo que optó por rehacer su vida: se casó, se divorció, tuvo 4 hijos y terminó haciéndose pastor.
