Saludos de nuevo comunidad de Steemit. En esta publicación les mostraré detalladamente el proceso de modelado en arcilla, realización de 'molde negativo' en yeso y posteriormente el laminado o vaciado que sería el molde en positivo en resina de poliester reforzada con fibra de vidrio (fiber glass)

Anteriormente, en mis años de estudiante y luego de escultor profesional yo solía realizar las esculturas con marmolina y cemento; materiales que necesitan sumo cuidado y mantenimiento además de que suelen pesar demasiado haciendo el traslado engorroso.

Desde hace unos años para acá he estado utilizando la resina de poliester y la fibra de vidrio para mis esculturas. Son componentes muy modernos y resistentes al agua, exteriores y además super livianos.

comenzaré con el paso a paso, de estas esculturas llamada 'escaladoras' de aproximadamente 15cm de largo.
Aquí les dejo las fotos. Divido este proceso en dos, porque es muy extenso, en este post me enfocaré en mostrar como dije anteriormente el modelado en arcilla, creación de molde en yeso y laminado.

En un segundo post que publicaré próximamente mostraré el proceso de lijado de las esculturas y pintado con acabado final.

Greetings from the new Steemit community. In this publication I will show you in detail the process of clay modeling, 'casting' plaster cast and then rolling or casting which would be the 'positive mold' in fiberglass reinforced polyester resin.

Previously, in my student years and later as a professional sculptor I used to make the sculptures with marble and cement; Materials that need extra care and maintenance, as well as weighing too much, making the move pf places troublesome.

For some years now I have been using polyester resin and fiberglass for my sculptures. They are very modern components resistant to water, exterior and also super light making them able to change of places without any problem.

I'll start with the step by step, here I leave the photos. These scuIptures I called them 'Climbers' and are about 15 centimetres of lenght.
I split this process in two, because it is very extensive, in this post I will focus on showing as I said clay modeling, plaster mold creation and fiberglass laminate.

In a second post that I will publish soon I will show the sanding process of the sculptures and painted with final finish.

cubriendo la figura en su totalidad con yeso, dejandole fraguar por 5 minutos y luego separandolo. Covering the figure in its entirety with plaster, letting it set for 5 minutes and then separating it.

en la izquierda, vemos el molde en negativo de yeso al cual apliqué el laminado de resina con fibra de vidrio que mostraré en el siguiente paso. En la derecha, el modelado y el yeso.

al dejar actuar por unas horas la resina, se crea una 'cascara' o laminado de fibra de vidrio con resina y masilla. Creando la forma de nuestra escultura gracias al molde en 'negativo' del yeso.
By allowing the resin to act for hours, a 'shell' or fiberglass laminate is created with resin and putty. Creating the shape of our sculpture thanks to the 'negative' plaster cast.

en el próximo post les explicaré como se hace el proceso de lijado y pintado para que queden con un excelente acabado de porcelana.
