The Lord Jesus speaks to us constantly as an effective provider, just as in this painting He speaks to His disciples, He also offers us the peace that the world cannot offer, peace that does not depend at all on the circumstances we are living.
What the Lord offers us is closely linked with the trust in God's protection, the trust, the security that we find in the promises of God flooding us with peace, let us remember that this peace has been placed in us through the merits of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary, our work is only to seek peace and enjoy it.
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you; I do not give to you as the world gives. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
