On Saturday it was revealed La Liga leaders had struck a deal with the Reds and will pay a staggering £142million for the Brazilian.
After three failed bids in the summer, Barcelona will no doubt be relieved to know they have finally got their man, reports the Liverpool Echo.
The fee will comfortably break the British record for a fee received and will see Coutinho become the most expensive player in history without a buyout clause - second behind only Neymar, who moved to Paris Saint-Germain for £200m in the summer.
It's been reported that Barcelona could officially announce the deal as early as Saturday evening, with the Reds' No.10 flying to Spain to conclude negotiations.
Coutinho will leave having made 201 appearances for for the Reds. He scored 54 times in the process to become the highest scoring Brazilian in Premier League history.
The Reds paid £8.5m to sign him as a 20-year-old in 2013, meaning their profit stands at an eye-watering £133.5m - should Coutinho achieve the near £30m in add-ons at Barca.
As always, the Twitter reaction was plentiful.
Many supporters are sad to see the imminent departure of a fan favourite, particularly at a time when Jurgen Klopp's Reds are unbeaten in 17 and into the New Year in a strong position.
He's cup tied to Liverpool in the Champion's League, why leave mid-project? I was expecting and agreement this month to sign for Barcelona in the summer...

Me too am a staunch Liverpool FC supporter. It hurts seeing him leave especially now that we are doing just fine. Needed him to stay till the summer then he can leave if he wants to. We re doing well in the Champions League, and Premier league as well... But I wish him well though. Just wish Liverpool will utilize that money and buy a better replacement. He will be missed at Anfield
