The verb dar in Spanish means to give.

Dar is an -AR verb, but the yo form is irregular.

Let's take a look at how to conjugate the verb in the present tense and then I will provide some example sentences.

yo doy = I give
das = you give
él/ella/usted da = he/she/you (formal) give(s)
nosotros(as) damos= we give
vosotros(as) dais = you all (informal Spain) give
ellos/ellas/ustedes dan (they/you all (Latin America + Spain (formal)

Let's now take a look at a few example sentences using dar

  1. Yo te doy un libro. = I give you a book.
  2. Tú me das de tu tiempo. = You give me your time.
  3. Ella os da unas galletas = She gives you all cookies (Spain)
  4. Nosotros te damos el árbol. = We give you a tree.
