Para la celebración de los próximos Juegos Centroamericanos y de Caribe, a celebrarse en Barranquila Colombia, la delegación venezolana parte con un contingente de 467 atletas, la cuarta más grande de todos los países participantes, y los directivos de la delegación esperan como metas principales preservar el cuarto lugar obtenido en la edición de Veracruz 2014, así como la de sumar al menos 40 preseas doradas en esta justa deportiva.
