Who is mining? es el nombre de una herramienta capaz de informar qué sitios web utilizan computadoras y móviles de sus visitantes para minar criptomonedas, una tendencia que crece a medida que aumenta el precio del bitcoin y otras monedas similares.
El proceso suele ser notorio para los usuarios, que observan cómo la actividad de su dispositivo se incrementa al abrir ciertas páginas web y baja una vez que las abandonan.
El malware más utilizado para minar criptomonedas es Coinhive. Se trata de un complemento con cada vez más popularidad en los sitios de descargas que ofrece como recompensa la divisa virtual Monero.
