SOCCER ENGLAND Premier League: Fulham VS Tottenham, Match Preview
Fulham fans may have seen a significant improvement in their side since Claudio Ranieri took charge, but their 2-1 loss to Burnley last weekend confirmed that there is still a lot of work to be done on this side if they are to avoid a potentially calamitous relegation.
So far, the only sides Fulham have managed to beat in the Premier League this season are fellow relegation candidates. Burnley fell to defeat back in August, and then a long wait followed until they beat Southampton in November. Their most recent success was a 1-0 win over the dreadful Huddersfield in their last match of 2018, but Ranieri really needs more from his players if they are to stand a chance of survival.
Tottenham aren’t exactly your first pick of beatable teams, but this is perhaps the best time to face Mauricio Pocchettino’s men. Harry Kane has been ruled out until March with an injury and the in form Son Heung-min has jetted off to the Asian Cup. Those 2 players have accounted for 47% of Spurs’ Premier League goals this season, so the visitors could really struggle without them.
Fulham Team News
Tomas Kalas (hip) remains a doubt for Fulham, while Ryan Fredericks misses out against his former club through suspension. Tom Cairney will look to test himself against Premier League opposition after the club placed a £12m valuation on his head.
Tottenham Team News
Erik Lamela (hip) remains doubtful for Spurs, as are defenders Jan Vertonghen (ankle) and Danny Rose (knee) with knocks. The likes of Kieran Trippier, Kevin Wimmer and Harry Winks will all hope to get game time for the away side here.
