The Book of Isaiah is not a single work but consists of three clearly differentiated parts. It is very possible that the book was composed over a long period of time, and perhaps the last sections were written not by Isaiah himself but by the prophet's disciples. The texts of Isaiah have had a profound influence not only on Judaism but also on Christianity, Jesus himself quoted some of his prophecies while preaching on earth. This is why the constant reading of his writings allows for great spiritual enrichment for all those who want to get closer to the word of God, the book of Isaiah is without a doubt one of the most important prophetic books.
And in the Second Part of the Book of Isaiah, there is a very interesting prophecy that has a great similarity with a prophecy of the prophet Joel, which according to the Christian faith was fulfilled at Pentecost with the arrival of the Holy Spirit.
And the prophecy of Isaiah says these words:
"For I will pour water on the thirsty land,
and streams on the dry ground;
I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring,
and my blessing on your descendants.
They will spring up like grass in a meadow,
like poplar trees by flowing streams" Isaiah 44:3-4.
Isaiah not only prophesied about the birth of Jesus, calling him Emmanuel in one of his oracles, but he also anticipated the arrival of the Holy Spirit to the children of Abraham according to the spirit. Isaiah, despite the difficult times in which he lived, did not forget hope. Isaiah prophesied times when the gifts of the Holy Spirit, such as faith and wisdom, would bring great change to humanity; and for Christians this has a very important meaning because the gifts of the Spirit are the manifestation of the Kingdom of God among men.
