SPIRITUAL WEAPON.
– PROTECTION against the Evil One, Satan and his evil forces. THIS is the “CHAIN” CHRISTIANS USE to “TIE UP SATAN”
THIS CHAIN is an EASY WEAPON to use to “IMPRISON SATAN” in our SPIRITUAL WARFARE. It is the SPIRITUAL WEAPON taught to us from the beginning by Saint Paul the Apostle, Saint Anthony the Great and up to our most recent Orthodox Christian Saint, Saint Paisios of the Holy Mount Athos.
THE CHAIN USED is: ‘THE JESUS PRAYER’ and The PRAYER ROPE (the ROSARY).
The PRAYER ROPE said with “THE JESUS PRAYER” is the CHAIN that will TIE UP SATAN.
“Never stop praying your prayer rope… for all that is poor and simply is deadly to Satan who is Vanity itself; this is one of the main reasons why Satan hates the prayer rope…. another being that this JESUS PRAYER brings down THE HOLY SPIRIT to the
person praying it.” (Saint Paisios of the Holy Mount Athos and TLIG)
The practice of “The Jesus Prayer” is integrated into the mental ascesis undertaken by the Orthodox monastic in the practice of hesychasm. Yet the Jesus Prayer is not limited only to monastic life or to clergy. All members of the Christian Church are advised to practice this prayer, laypeople and clergy, men, women and children. In solitude and retirement, the ‘Hesychast’ repeats the Jesus Prayer, “Lord Jesus Christ, son of God, have mercy on me, the sinner.” The Hesychast prays the Jesus Prayer ‘with the heart’—with meaning, with intent, ‘for real’ (See link 3 below).
