Quo Vadis is an expression that refers to the last moments of the life of Saint Peter. The acts of the apostles tell us about the events of the life of saint peter from pentecost to the first council of jerusalem, After this the life of the apostle Peter falls into mystery. There is an apocryphal text called "Acts of Peter" where the story of this spiritual expression is told.
In the "Acts of Peter" it is narrated that the emperor decrees the persecution of the Christians, and it is there that the apostle peter as bishop of rome decides to flee.
Fleeing the Via Apia, he meets Jesus, and asks him: "Quo Vadis, Domine?". The translation from latin is: Where are you going, Lord?

To which Jesus responds: " I am going to Rome to be crucified a second time". After this, the bishop of Rome decides to return and it is there that he is crossed to the reverse, that is to say with his head down.
This story has as a moral lesson, to teach us the importance of the gift of perseverance: the daily determination of doing good and avoiding evil, its main characteristic is the resistance.
Perseverance is the proper virtue of the saints, Jesus himself dies persevering to the end.
Resisting evil by doing good is essential in spiritual life: "But the one who endures to the end will be saved", Matthew 24:13. The success in the tasks depends on the determination: "Persevere and you will succeed", said Seneca.
The lukewarmness, fleeing responsibilities is condemned in the gospel:
"I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm--neither hot nor cold--I am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked." Revelations 3: 15-17
Being an adult means persevering.
