Spiritual Knowledge: In the fear of the Lord there is no want; whoever has it need seek no other support. Ben Sira 40:26

The Master of Wisdom Ben Sira in his book reflected with a series of maxims on the importance of different goods in the life of man. The man for the good life requires both material goods and spiritual goods, and to achieve true happiness a balance must be achieved between them, money, friends, and family are goods that must be taken into account.
And about the necessary goods for happiness the wise said: "Wealth or wages can make life sweet, but better than either, finding a treasure" Ben Sira 40:18.
Without money, life becomes very difficult, that's why money is important, but the wise man also told us that we have to discover a treasure. And that treasure is a very important spiritual good, the wisdom. And wisdom is frequently compared to a hidden treasure, because when we acquire wisdom as knowledge, it has gradual and progressive effects, until it is revealed to us through Gnosis as what it truly is, a spiritual gift in the heart, that leads us to the immortality and the eternal life. We can read about this theme in the Sacred Scriptures when king Solomon asked God for a heart that knows how to listen in 1 Kings 3:3-15.
And the true well-being of life is achieved when we find that spiritual treasure and also we have goods to live decently: "Wisdom and money can get you almost anything, but only wisdom can save your life" Ecclesiastes 7:12.
And on this truth, the master of wisdom Ben Sira was more precise, because he put a hierarchy between the goods of man; for the wise the common sense is the most importantly good for man, because everything else comes from this intellectual capacity, and common sense comes is based in the fear of God and its perfection, the wisdom:
"Wealth and vigor make the heart exult,
but better than either, fear of God.
In the fear of the Lord, there is no want;
whoever has it need seek no other support.
The fear of God is a paradise of blessings;
its canopy is over all that is glorious" Ben Sira 40:26-27.
