Spiritual studies: "For everything in the world comes not from the Father but from the world"

Minds subjected to concupiscence, that is, the minds governed by the flesh cannot perceive immaterial truths, this is why the exercise of the purifying virtues is so necessary, like mercy, piety and continuous improvement. Concupiscence is the disorderly desire directed towards the apparent goods: lust, money, fame, power.
Concupiscence is like thirst is always present and keeps us from satisfying the needs that come from the body, "you only live once", "we live briefly and we are dust", the wicked tells to himself; in this context the spiritual progress of souls is meaningless. People who live according to the concupiscence are fundamentally "pleasure seekers".
That is why there is an opposition between the heavenly things and the worldly things: "For everything in the world – the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life – comes not from the Father but from the world.", 1 John 2:16.

The bible explains that we have to choose between two masters God and money: "No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money”, Matthew 6:24.
The true goal of man is eternal life, the knowledge of God: “But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.”, Luke 12:31.
The true wealth of man is the riches towards God, because it is God who provides life:
“Then he said to them, ´Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions´
And he told them this parable: ´The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest. He thought to himself, ´What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.´
Then he said, ´This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. And I’ ll say to myself, ´You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.´´
´But God said to him, ´You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?´
This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God´´” Luke 12:15-21.
