Spiritual warfare: The kingdom of heaven has been subjected to violence, and violent people have been raiding it

Jesus sets John the Baptist as an example to follow in the gospel of Luke. John announced to the common and simple people the Kingdom of Heaven and baptized in the Jordan river for the forgiveness of sins. If we want to enter the Kingdom of God and understand the meaning of spiritual warfare, we have to follow the example of John, who led a life full of mercy (compassion, gentleness, kindness) and piety (constancy, firmness, devotion, equanimity, stability): "Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful" Luke 6:36.
John the Baptist became a servant of his brothers to be the least in the Kingdom of God, and like the seed that becomes a bush, his life bore fruits of life, spiritual warfare consists in understanding that if we love the things of the world we cannot accept God: "Don't you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God" James 4:4.
The Gospel tells us the description that makes Jesus about John the Baptist:
"As John's disciples were leaving, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John: ´What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed swayed by the wind? If not, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? No, those who wear fine clothes are in kings' palaces. Then what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet. This is one about whom it is written:
´I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.´
Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet whoever is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been subjected to violence, and violent people have been raiding it. For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John. And if you are willing to accept it, he is the Elijah who was to come. Whoever has ears, let them hear." Matthew 11:7-15.
