The spiritual path to God: Plant the good seeds of righteousness, and you will harvest a crop of love. Hosea 10:12

The prophet Hosea was a contemporary of the prophet Isaiah, and unlike this prophet, Hosea preached in the Kingdom of Israel and not in the Kingdom of Judah.
The Kingdom of Israel was, unlike Judah, the kingdom most affected by idolatry, and in particular due to the religious schism created by King Jeroboam; this wicked King, in his belief that he could be killed, created two golden calves, one he placed in Bethel and the other in Dan (1 Kings 12:28-29).
This is why the preaching of the word of God was particularly dangerous for Hosea, especially with the precedent of the evil Queen Jezebel who ordered the murder of numerous prophets, even the prophet Elijah had to escape to save his life from this queen of Phoenician origin (1 Kings 19).
The prophet Hosea wrote a book where he left his oracles, and in it, and with a literary style very similar to the sapiential books, in particular the books of Proverbs and Ben Sira, he left not only prophecies referring to the destruction of the Kingdom of Israel and the life of the Lord Jesus, but also important teachings of wisdom, to strengthen in the knowledge of the Lord all those who sought him with a good heart.
And among his most important sapiential teachings, a beatitude stands out, which has a great resemblance to the parable of the sower taught by Jesus in the gospel of Luke.
With these words of hope the prophet Hosea called the Israelites to seek the path to God:
"Plant the good seeds of righteousness,
and you will harvest a crop of love.
Plow up the hard ground of your hearts,
for now is the time to seek the LORD,
that he may come
and shower righteousness upon you" Hosea 10:12.
He who sows righteousness ("Do to no one what you yourself hate" Tobit 4:15) reaps good love said the prophet, the spiritual law of sowing and reaping is a law that no one can avoid, and it is in the sensible men its comprehension, to achieve happiness and the true life.
