Children bring joy to our hearts. I don't know about you. Whenever I see babies or baby animals, my heart melts with smiles. Babies are so adorable. Babies are so cute. Best of all, babies are not pretentious.
If you ever work with children, you know that most children are humble. They are not judgemental. They ask why and want to know the answers all the time. Their minds are like sponges ready to absorb whatever you teach them. And whatever you teach them, they believe. The younger they are, the more they believe what you teach them.
In Matthew 18:3, Jesus said: "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven."
How do we become like little children? It's hard, isn't it? My own personal experience is to be humble like little children, like Jesus:
In Philippians 2:7, Jesus "made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men."
On the other hand, what hinders us to be humble like little children? My experience is pride, wealth, power, or social status. It's ironic we spend most of our adult life pursuing these, yet they can potentially prevent us from entering the kingdom of heaven if we are not careful.
This group of young people recorded something nice in 1970/71. I had the good fortune to attend the same high school with them in that interesting era, and listened to them and this song

What a lovely old song! Thank you so much for sharing. For some reasons, it was blocked with the link you sent. I went to youtube and watched it there.

Haha ... do you know oriental people like to show their age when they get older? Age alone wins respect. It's all about wisdom and life experience :)

I taught lots of children and I like two things about them. The desire to learn and the forgiving heart.
Children are ready to ask all the stupid question just so they will understand a simple thing.
Too, most of them don't hold an offence for long. You see two children fight now, ten minutes later they are playing again. And have totally forgiven each other. Only if we as adult can still posses this virtue. Thanks @cheneats

Bravos to you for adding forgiveness, which is also a childlike character. Thank you, my friend!

How very true. We grow up from innocent little children to adults seeking wealth, power and social status. It is so easy to stray away from the straight and narrow.

Thank you for the verse. :) Matthew 7:14, "Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."

Kids really are a blank page. You can write on them and control them as you like. But in the end they are the result of your writing and teaching
We also teach, our society and our circumstances
Even the hormones in the body are controlled and change from our childhood thinking to maturity.
If the world was childish, how would life become.
Here is the divine wisdom which God gave to His slaves, which we are thankful for.
Thanks my dear sister @cheneats

I think what hinders me most is fear. Fear comes from the unknown, but a child doesn’t think to question the unknown, and if they do, they trust their guardians to look after them and take care of what may come. I’m in a constant dash to prevent future trouble. Somehow, when I’m hurrying around, preparing for all the unknowns and what-ifs, being as proactive as possible, I feel like I’ve got some sort of control. It’s hard for me to hand things over to God and fear not, and let him take care of things.

Absolutely! Fear is another one. Life will be less laden when we can completely trust God just like children who trust their guardians.
