I've been thinking about ego identities lately. How we attach our identity and worth to alot of things which really are not US and we have believed that this is who we are.
Have you ever asked yourself who you are when all is stripped away? Would you still be confident and have your identity intact, if your ego identities were stripped? Without your fancy job, good looks, charming personality, academic position, important friends, nice body, house, car, family, money, influence, birth status?
We attach our identity to so many things which are outside ourselves and we don't even realise it until we lose them or they are shaken and then we come face to face with our selves.
The true self who is the OBSERVER of all these things and we crumble and fall apart because we never knew who we are beyond ego.
The true self is the spirit being we are, who came to this dimension without any attachment to ego identities because they didn't exist.
And I'm not saying having these things is wrong. They make life comfortable here, but we must never confuse them to be who we are.
They are just things that enable us to access this earth easy but our core identity is the unattached self who knows these things aren't you! It's the self who remains when all is stripped away. Behind the veil.
May we get in touch with who we really are and not get caught up in attachments that ego tries to hide behind and which really rob us of the soul of life. You can have these things but still remember who you are and seperate yourself from egos deceptive power plays and desire to hide.
