"If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit", said Jesus. What does it mean and why is important this spiritual teaching?

Jesus discusses withe the doctors of the law, the pharisees and the levites about the pure and the impure. They reject the teaching of Jesus. Then Jesus tells the disciples an important spiritual teaching: "Leave them; they are blind guides. If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit", Matthew 15:14.

Blind according to the teachings of Jesus is who cannot see the world with the eyes of God, blind is who cannot see the kingdom of God ("no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again", John 3:3)
This teaching of Jesus in Matthew 15:14 is the oppose of the beatitude: "blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God", Matthew 5:8.
Blind in practical terms means not having the spiritual gift of knowledge. The meaning of the parables of Jesus are not for the blind.
The understanding of the parables requires the use of the progressive, ethical and complete thinking. This is because the spiritual gifts are progressive, tend to improve, to increase. We all have a ranking of mercy, of piety, of perseverance.
Jesus teach us to be reborn from the spirit: "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven" Matthew 18:3; to open the intelligence to understand the scriptures: "Then he opened their minds so they could understand the scriptures", Luke 24:45
Some parables demand the use of progressive thinking:
"The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches" Matthew 13:32.
"The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about sixty pounds of flour until it worked all through the dough" Matthew 13:33
Jesus in the sermon of the mount explain to us that we have to choose between the hit and the error. The gift of knowledge is the precise and the exact, the goal of the gift of knowledge is the truth and the eternal and immutable objects. The sense of life can only be perceived through the gift of knowledge.
Being blind, and for this the curse, means to sin, following the passions and the passing wishes, act without a life plan.
