Pain Is Extreme Beauty

I was pained,
But what’s pain without a wound?
I see no wound,
Where is this pain?

This pain is in me,
I see it’s full of happiness,
But does this mean the happiness I once had was a disguised pain?

I want light!
And so I cast pain thereof.

No, pain said,
I am not pain,
I am your happiness,
The wound is therefore the place where light enters you.

For to experience light is to experience pain,
To experience pain is to experience light,
And that is this,
Happiness is pain in disguise?

How can happiness be pain in disguise!
For when I feel happiness there’s absence of pain!

It takes pain to be happy,
And so also,
It takes happiness to not be pained.

Pain is power
Pain is love,
Pain is gift,
Pain is beautiful,
For extreme pain is extremely beautiful.
