50 DAYS TO UNDERSTANDING THE END-TIMES MORE ACCURATELY - DAY 24 - FOR MY NAME'S SAKE : Part 1 - AUDIO & VIDEO

in spirituality •  7 years ago

This is DAY TWENTY FOUR of the daily devotional.

I am releasing a 50 day daily devotional about the end-times as revealed in Scripture. Along with the text, I will be providing a video where I cover the text of the day, and @verbal-d will be providing an audio version of it. That way, whether you want to read, watch, or listen, you'll be able to enjoy this study as you wish.

The plan is to release this devotional over the next 50 consecutive days, but life may "get in the way." We will do our best, but please be patient with me if I fall behind.

The SoundCloud Audio from @verbal-d

The YouTube Video from @papa-pepper

The Text I Originally Shared on the @narrowminded Account

It is worth pointing out at this point that beliefs and understandings change over time. The actual writing of this devotional has been many years in the making. The original text has been somewhat updated to reflect my current beliefs, whereas the text from which @verbal-d read reflects a previous belief. The points are the same, but some parts have been edited, leading to a discrepancy between the video and the audio. Thanks!

DAY 24 - FOR MY NAME'S SAKE : Part 1

“And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:” (Mark 13:13-14)

“Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)” (Matthew 24:9-15)

We see multiple things repeated in these passages, one of which is being killed and hated “for my name’s sake”. According to pretribulationists, the “Olivet Discourse” (beginning here in Matthew 24) has nothing to do with the rapture and only focuses on “The Tribulation.” They say that those being hated for Jesus’ name sake are the Jews of future Israel. However, if we are to “let him that readeth understand,” let’s see what Daniel has to tell us.

“And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week shall he cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.” (Daniel 9:27)

If the church is already raptured prior to Matthew 24, then what are those doing who are being “hated of all nations for my name’s sake” (Matthew 24:9) six verses prior to the “Abomination of Desolation?” At the “Abomination of Desolation,” the Antichrist shall “cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease” (Daniel 9:27). Since Scripture tells us that the Antichrist removes the Temple sacrifice, it seems that the Jewish people will be in their rebuilt Temple attempting to worship God through the Old Testament Temple sacrifice system. If they were not still rejecting Christ, the Jews would already be Christian believers and being hated for the sake of Jesus’ name. It was Jesus who spoke this, and it is His name, not the name of God, that the people referred to are being hated for. Being hated for Jesus’ name sake is a uniquely Christian experience, reserved only for followers of Christ, not for the Jewish people.

Point #1: Prior to the “Abomination of Desolation”, people are still being hated and killed because of Jesus’ name.

Point #2: The Jewish people, as a nation, will still be rejecting Christ at this point.

Point #3: Someone, other than the Jews, will still need to be present upon the earth at this point being hated and killed for Jesus’ name sake.

CLOSER

If anyone is really interested, I did post the entire volume through an alt account over a year ago. I did so as an experiment to see how hard it would be for a new user to get noticed on steemit, so I didn't let anyone know that I was doing it. You can click here to a post that has links to the entire 50 days of this devotional if you really want to read ahead. That information has always been available there since I first posted it. It is not the purpose of this series to just copy all of my previous work, but instead to transform it into some new outlets by releasing it in an audio and video format, to broaden the reach that this work has.

Again, though I will certainly never claim to know it all, I do believe that many are being lead astray by some popular beliefs. I hope that this project will be able to help many others understand the end-times more accurately. Thanks!

I liked this article!

People always come out of the woodwork saying that the Bible is a story and not a history. They continue to try and poke holes in it and use "logic" to prove it wrong. The funny thing is there is a very large and serious branch of study by "credible" scientists, lawyers, etc.... that set out to prove the Bible wrong and ended up proving to themselves that Jesus truly was and is the Christ. There's a reason the Bible has endured for thousands of years and is the best selling book of all time: it is God's Word to man. They continue to find historical and archeological digs that prove Old Testament peoples once thought a "myth" actually existed in places they never thought possible. If people study the Bible under the premise it is true, there is no end to the joy, peace, and discovery they will encounter on their journey of learning. If you study it believing it false or just a good story, you "deceive yourself and the truth is not in you". In my opinion, if you truly study the Bible and actively try to discern it's truths, the Holy Spirit will break down your walls and you will come to His truth.

As always, another great "day", papa.....thank you!

You're welcome!

Wow it has already been 24 day.. missing some days to read

Thanks @pawanregmi28!

This is a great post @papa-pepper, I've been into this for some years now and I agree with you on what you wrote. The rapture takes place before tribulation and there will still be tribulation and the killing of us Christians is different from the tribulation killing as proposed in that passage. The reason why people are often misled is because they don't take out time to study the Bible and they lift verses to interpret the Bible. They should know that the Bible is a book, it has a story line, if they don't read it in context, they won't get the actual meaning the writer was trying to pass. Thanks for the insightful post. I'm going to resteem this and go through all your previous work by God's grace.

happy live your day my friend @papa-pepper,
hopefully everything goes as planned today.

woow
good man😘

Thank you @papa-pepper... God has blessed you with understanding in the scriptures..
I was really blessed by the exposition
Great article..

Being hated for Jesus’ name sake is a uniquely Christian experience, reserved only for followers of Christ, not for the Jewish people.

@papa-pepper. I agree with you on this. I think that misconception came as a result of people thinking that only the jews are the children of God.
But Jesus christ died and gave us all access to the father. So being hated for his sake applies to we Christians. All of us. The jewish and non-jewish as far as we proclain HIM.

Some of the most scary words that the Messiah ever said can be found in Matthew 7. Note who He is talking about...He is talking about those people that call Him Lord. The question is who are the people that call Jesus/Yeshua Lord?

Matthew 7:21-23 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

I love this warning of our Lord Jesus Christ about the tribulations that will occur to believers, what they will have to face cos of their beliefs. But what we have now is a bunch of people who call themselves Christians but they do not want to bear their cross, they only want to enjoy every moment

24 is my favorite number, I gotta catch up on this series!

Let me state now that the Bible is not reference at all to any persons whoever existed or to any event that ever occurred upon Earth.

The ancient story-tellers were not writing history, but an allegorical picture of lesson of certain basic principles which they clothed in the garb of history.
And they adapted this stories to the limited capacity of the most uncritical and credulous people.

Throughout the century, we have mistakenly take personifications for persons, allegory for history, the vehicle that conveyed the instruction for the instruction, and the gross first sense for the ultimate sense intended.

I will not continue to quote this. If you will receive the Truth of these writings, you will look to find more for yourself Mr. @Papa-Pepper.
The doors are always there, we have to choose to walk through them.

This is the link for the full audio-book: Neville Goddard, Consciousness Is The Only Reality. It's the first lesson out of a series of five, which I really recommend to anyone to study.

I could write so much more about this, but I feel there is not point right now. If it were that you ask for it, it shall be given. :D

Thanks for sharing Mr @Pappa-Pepper!
